TESTIMONIALS

FROM PARENTS
“We have had a wonderful experience with Ms. Meah as my child’s violin teacher over the past 1.5 years. When my child first started lessons with Ms. Meah, he was struggling with basic techniques and lacked confidence in his playing. Over time, with Ms. Meah’s attentive instruction, my child has developed a stronger foundation in violin technique. His finger work has become precise and fluid, and his sense of musicality has blossomed.

Ms. Meah’s dedication to her students is evident in many ways. She was instrumental in helping my child prepare for the Singapore Raffles International Music Festival, where my child won the Elite Award in the Violin Solo Competition Junior B Category. Her preparation methods were thorough and supportive, making a big difference in my child’s performance.

Additionally, Ms. Meah organizes an annual concert for her students. This event provides an excellent platform for students to showcase their progress and gain confidence in their abilities. It’s a highlight of the year for us, seeing all the students perform and celebrate their achievements.

We are very grateful for Ms. Meah’s commitment and support. Her teaching has made a meaningful impact on my child’s musical journey, and we highly recommend her to anyone seeking a skilled and nurturing violin teacher.” – Parent of Yan Heng (11)

“Ms Meah was the first violin teacher of my boys Peng Guan and Peng Yang, who won the first prize of the Senior Category and second prize of the Intermediate Category respectively in the National Piano and Violin Competition 2023. She is an excellent teacher who laid down a strong foundation for my boys. She also organises annual concerts which provide valuable performance opportunities and motivation for students. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to you for laying down their fundamentals and instilling the love for playing the violin, which are so important for young children’s development. The boys still remember fondly those fun annual concerts that they performed in.” – Mr Low, Parent of Ex-students, Peng Guan and Peng Yang.

“Before embarking an exciting journey under Ms Meah, my girl was nowhere near enthusiasm in the violin. Under her tutelage, my girl had a 360 degree turn and she not only scored distinction in grade 7 violin exam but also had a positive approach towards the instrument. Her playing has matured from failure to success. Ms Meah is an awesome teacher who has nurtured my girl’s interest patiently. A teacher who is truly amazing and impossible to forget!” – Parent of Zann (14)

“My son, Esmond, started violin lessons with Miss Meah from Dec 2020. Miss Meah’s innovative teaching methods and patience enabled my child to improve his techniques and make encouraging progress. She tailors the lessons in accordance to Esmond’s progress and always challenges him to push his abilities. Her weekly “homework”  and “targets” from various violin studies has greatly improved Esmond’s techniques on string crossing, bow-strokes, shifting and finger-patterns. Under her guidance, Esmond achieved Distinction in Grade 3 Violin!
Since Esmond is participating in orchestra, Miss Meah would also frequently guide Esmond in preparing for his solo or group performance pieces, allowing him to develop necessary ensemble and musical skills.” – Parent of Esmond (7)

“Ashlyn shown her interest in violin 8 years ago. She chose violin over piano of which she also has some lessons. Initially she has been studying in a music school where her teacher at that time comments on her potential. However, it was only after she come under Ms Meah that tremendous improvement can be observed.  It is not just her overall standards and ABRSM grades that have shown good results, but she is also coached and obtained experience as a performer. It has since been 7 years under Ms Meah. With Ms Meah guidance, she has obtained her ABRSM Grade 6 with Distinction, and I am confident Ashlyn will be able to further her interest under Miss Meah. – Parent of Ashlyn (15)

“The experienced, in-depth and personalised teaching at Meah Violin Studio really helps to bring out the best in your child. After my daughter went for lessons with Miss Meah, she has seen tremendous improvement in her playing. Not only that, I feel like it helps increase their exposure with the annual concerts the studio holds every year. It really helps teach them the importance of practice and hard work.” – Parent of Zelene (15)

“From what I have observed, Ms Meah is a great teacher. She pays attention to many details, not just playing out the notes. She puts in the extra effort, such as organizing the annual concerts, arranging pieces for the group items, and recording the various parts to help students in their practice. These concerts provide the valuable opportunity to develop confidence, stage presence, and motivation to practice, which are especially important for young kids. Highly recommended!” – Parent of Peng Yang (6) and Peng Guan (9)

“Miss Meah is an excellent and amiable teacher. She hardly rages and if she does, it is always because I did not meet her expectations. She taught me not only violin skills, but also attitude towards life. No doubt the process of learning is tedious, I enjoy my violin journey with Miss Meah”. – Le Qi (13)

After switching over to Miss Meah from March this year (2016), I am glad I have found a great teacher who has helped to improve my techniques. Initially, I did not think that I would improve that much, but after all the practice and lessons, I am more confident in myself when I play my violin pieces!” – Ang Jia Yi (13)

“My friends and even my family must have thought I was mad to take up violin lessons as an adult. They must have thought I was even more crazy to travel from Bedok to Choa Chu Kang for my weekly lessons. However it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. At the start, it was quite frustrating but it has gotten better with time. Miss Meah’s effective and patient coaching has helped tremendously. Playing the violin well gives me a satisfaction that even shopping or good food cannot provide!” – Amy Leong (Adult)
